Beit Chesed

About Us

Beit Chesed means “House of Mercy” or “House of Loving Kindness.” The heart of Beit Chesed is to love HaShem, our G-D, with all our heart, soul, and might, and to love one another. As Yeshua instructed in John 13:35 - By this all men will know that you are my disciples if there will be love among you one to another.

We believe Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Messiah) is the Jewish Messiah and the Living Torah. Salvation is through Him alone. We observe the L-RD’s commands and teachings in His Torah NOT to be saved, but because we ARE saved and seek to be obedient to the L-RD. James 2:24, 26 - You see that by works a man is justified and not by faith alone. As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead.

We study and observe G-d’s Word from a Hebraic/Eastern perspective. In our Torah studies, we dig into the historical and cultural setting of the text to grasp the deeper meaning. We study using the method of PaRDeS (P'shat, Remez, Drash, Sod) and reference the ancient writings of the sages including the Talmud, Targums, and other historical literature. Joshua 1:8 - This book of the Torah shall not depart from your mouth; rather you shall contemplate it day and night in order that you observe to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way successful, and then you will act wisely. Second Timothy 2:15 says, And study to present yourself before Elohim perfectly, a laborer who is not ashamed, one who correctly announces the Word of Truth.

We keep the Moedim, Feasts of the L-RD in Leviticus 23, and we observe the Biblical Sabbath (see Isaiah 56). We observe these holidays as they have been calculated according to the Hillel II calendar in unity with the wider Jewish Community. Matthew 23:1-3 - Y'shua then spoke with the crowds and with his disciples, and he said to them, "The Scribes and the Pharisees sit on the seat of Moshe. Therefore everything that they say to you that you should keep and do. But not according to their deeds, for they talk but do not.

As a community, we walk in the faith practiced by Yeshua HaMashiach the Jewish Messiah and His talmidim (disciples) in the 1st century. We recognize that the early Believers (Jews, converts, and the Gentiles grafted in) were instructed in the teachings of Moses as they met to study together in the synagogues on the Sabbath. We seek to reach out to the Jew and Gentile, not forgetting the poor, the orphan, and the widow. Matthew 28:19-20 - Go therefore, make disciples of all nations and immerse them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Ruach haKodesh. And TEACH them ALL that I have commanded you … Amen. Acts 15:21 - For from ancient generations in all cities Moshe had preachers in the synagogues that on every Shabbat they read him."

We stand with the G-D of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in support of the nation of Israel and the Jewish people. We encourage opportunities for outreach in our community and abroad, especially to Israel. Genesis 12:3a - I will bless those who bless you, and him who curses you will I curse....

We invite you into the Messianic Community of Believers to learn and grow with us as One in Messiah Yeshua.

Blessings and peace to you!
